SUPERVISORS &
COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Jack and MattThank you very much for your interest in being a thesis supervisor. I am betting you will find your efforts very satisfying. Our students are not the typical PhD student. With an average age of over forty they are mature, worldly, and know what they want. They have very high initiative. One of a supervisor’s roles is to help a student develop a network of people in the profession. You will find that our students can reciprocate by introducing you to their well established network.

As a supervisor you have many responsibilities, not the least of which is to guide the student to a productive career. We look to supervisors to help students do research, get funding, and publish in journals or conference proceedings. We have many tip sheets to help you in your supervisory role. You can find them at in the Important Forms section of the website. If you have any questions please contact us at idphd@dal.ca.
