Since 1984, our program has grown to become the largest PhD program at Dalhousie University, with 100 students, and is a one-of-a-kind doctoral program in Canada. Our students are highly motivated, experienced, and qualified, coming from a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds.  They pursue research that addresses a complex question that cannot be answered within a single discipline, and incorporate the insights of two or more traditional disciplines as well as interdisciplinary and other fields of study.
